Saint Michael’s Medical Center kicked off Patient Experience Week by awarding 16 of its employees with a certificate of outstanding service.

The employees were recognized for receiving honorable mention by patients who filled out surveys known as the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a national standardized survey of patients’ perspectives of hospital care.

“Patient Experience Week celebrates healthcare staff impacting patient experience every day,” said Regional Patient Experience Director Sarah Crespo. “It’s a time to celebrate accomplishments, re-energize efforts and honor the people who consistently show up for those we serve.

Six employees were also presented with the Patient Experience Champion designation in recognition of their positive energy and genuine dedication to delivering compassionate care. The champions will join Crespo in spearheading patient experience initiatives.

Saint Michael’s also celebrated with a video premiere of “I AM THE PATIENT EXPERIENCE (PX),” which is dedicated to the Saint Michael’s family for the amazing work they did in 2021 and continue to do today.
