Newark, NJ, 10/14/2025 – Saint Michael’s Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Primary Stroke Certification.
Saint Michael’s Medical Center underwent a rigorous, announced onsite review on August 27th and 28th. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards including the ability to rapidly deploy the Stroke Team to provide evidence based care for acute stroke patients. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
