Saint Michael’s Medical Center announced today that Assunta “Sue” Bruno has been named director of human resources at the Newark hospital.
Bruno is an experienced human resources manager who previously served as human resources manager at White Plains Hospital Physicians Associates, where she was responsible for the hospital and medical group physicians.
“Saint Michael’s is a great hospital with dedicated employees, many of whom have worked here for decades,” Bruno said. “It is an honor to be part of an organization committed to providing the highest quality health care to the community.”
Prior to White Plains, Bruno was the director of human resources department of New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan and Bronxville, NY.
Previously, she served as a senior human resources consultant and human resources manager at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virgina. She started her career in human resources at Washington Radiology Associates in Washington, D.C.

Bruno received a bachelor’s degree in health services administration from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of Maryland University College. She also has an advanced certificate in strategic human resources management from Cornell University.
