Program Overview
Saint Michael’s Medical Center offers a comprehensive three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency program that provides an all-inclusive surgical and medical training experience. Our program is designed to equip residents with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery, preparing them for successful careers in either academic or clinical podiatric surgery.

Clinical Experience
Our residents benefit from a rich and varied clinical experience, including:
- Extensive access to podiatric and orthopedic surgical cases
- Primary responsibility for foot, ankle, and lower leg trauma
- Daily inpatient care
- On-call duties for acute podiatric medicine and trauma in the Emergency Room
- Evaluation and treatment of inpatient problems with increasing responsibility in outpatient, operative, and emergency settings
- Emphasis on decision-making skills for managing foot and ankle disorders, from diabetic foot and reconstruction to complex trauma
- Multidisciplinary approach to inpatient management, with consultation of appropriate services as needed
- Outpatient clinics held in a modern facility with on-site x-ray capability
