How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Saint Michael’s Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are a dual accredited MD/DO program in affiliation with New York Medical College. Applicants who are interested can apply to our program through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Our program requirements match those of the ERAS which includes the following:

• 3 Letters of Recommendation
• An official USMLE or COMLEX transcript
• 1 personal statement
• Medical School transcripts
• Dean’s letter if available
• A valid photograph

Our program does not have a minimum USMLE or COMLEX score requirement. We believe that a resident is more than just a number and must be evaluated as a whole. However, please bear in mind that our goal is to achieve an average USMLE score of 225 for the incoming class and we take this into consideration when reviewing your application.

Foreign Medical Graduates:

Foreign graduates must meet all the requirements above and can apply through the ERAS process as well. We currently support J1 Visas only. If you are a green card holder you must provide proof when interviewing. We require that all foreign graduates have clinical experience in the United States in which they were directly involved in patient care as well as having an up to date ECFMG certificate.
